Sister Turnell was born on November 7,1923 in McCulloch County, Texas to her parents Albert and Bessie Rasco Finnigan. She was preceded in death 13 years ago by her beloved husband Clarence Elmo Turnell of 61 years. She has lived through, The Depression, 17 Presidents, one marriage, the death of her parents and all her siblings, the birth of one child, three granddaughters and many great-grandchildren. She was a Pastor’s wife for 35 years, and nurse. She graciously moved across Texas, New Mexico and Alaska. She has read and after her eyesight left, listened to the entire Bible a couple times per year since the 1940’s. She was gracious, kind, beautiful and wise.
Billie Turnell is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Darrel and Kay Turnell of Paducah, Texas; grandchildren, Darren and Edwina Jones of Liberty Hill, Texas, John and Vonda Pinney of Cedar Park, Texas, Bart and Desiree Steele of Austin, Texas, David and April Greear of Austin, Texas, and Craig and Lisa Smith of Savannah Texas; and 18 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Mother, Father and seven siblings.
The family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 2, 2017 in the chapel of Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home. Billie Turnell’s graveside ceremony will be at 3:15 P.M. following her funeral service at the Liberty Hill Cemetery in Liberty Hill, Texas. She will be placed to rest next to her beloved husband until she hears the trumpet of the Lord sound. All are welcome to attend.
