Amalia D. Leal, 81, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 14, 2016, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, after suffering from a recent illness at Sage Bluff Health and Rehabilitation Nursing Home. Born April 13, 1935, in Duval County, Texas. She recently lived in Georgetown, Texas prior to relocating to Fort Wayne, Indiana in October, 2015, living with her daughter, Sylvia and her husband, Ed Romero.
Amalia is survived by her brother, Jesus De La Garza of Guadalupe, California. Also survived by her daughter, Sylvia and her two grandsons, Anthony and Andrew of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Following is her son, Bruno Perez and spouse, Lou Ann of Georgetown, Texas and his family, Wyatt, and Avery and following family, John Anthony and Crystal (and great-grandchildren Mikayla and Dylan). Also, son, deceased, Victor Perez and spouse, Chrissy and daughter, Alyssa of San Antonio, Texas. Further, son, Crisostomo Perez and spouse, Cindy of Kingsville, Texas and daughter, Mia Perez. Final son, David Perez of Round Rock, Texas. Amalia's first husband, Crisostomo Perez passed in 1979, and second husband, Julian Leal passed in 2000.
Amalia was a strong religious person, having the Sacrament of Eucharist brought to her each week by Marvin Nazareth of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Fort Wayne, IN. Amalia devoted her life to raising her children, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She read the bible nightly and will be missed greatly by all.
Services will be at St. Helen Catholic Church in Georgetown, Texas at 1:00 p.m. CST on Saturday, October 1, 2016.

Services and burial will be at Cook-Walden Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas assisted by Greenlawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
