William "Bill" Jones

William “Bill” Jones, 85, passed away Thursday June 9th at CaroMont Medical Center in Gastonia, NC. He was born September 5, 1936 to the late John Henry and Rosie Miller Jones in Hardshell, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by beloved wife of 34 years, Aileen Jones, and two grandchildren, Chad Jones and Elizabeth Bridges. His sister, Mavis Haight and three brothers, Sam Jones, George Jones and Victor Jones have also gone on before him.

A retired plant manager with Piedmont Heat Treating in Charlotte, NC. He enjoyed spending time with his family, going to the flea market, playing his guitar and listening to music.

He is survived by his son Billy Jones and daughters Cindy (Dan) Dover, Karen Troy and Shari (Willie) Clark. Grandchildren, Scott Jones, Allen Postell, Chris Jones, Samantha and David Potts. 11 Great-Grandchildren. Two brothers Lindell (June) Jones, Charlie (Rose) Jones; two sisters, Ollie (James) Turner and Pearl (Orlando) Noble; Host of nieces and nephews.

A service celebrating Bill’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday June 23, 2022 at Carothers Funeral Home, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia NC. The family will receive friends one hour before the service beginning at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Reverend Dickie Spargo, of City Church in Gastonia, will officiate.
