Wayne Erskine Richmond

Wayne Erskine Richmond, 68, of Gastonia, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Charlotte and was the son of the late Basum and Georgia Cannon Richmond.

Mr. Richmond retired as a Supervisor with Pharr Yarns, Inc.

Mr. Richmond is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sherry Hord Richmond; three sons, Mark Richmond and wife Angelia of Asheville, Darrell Kitchen and wife Christal, Darrin Pearson of Gastonia; three daughters, Stacy Peterson and husband Jeff Snuggs of Belmont, Lisa Brown and husband Martin, Kristy Halk of Gastonia; one brother, Jerry Richmond and wife Cathy of Charlotte; two sisters, Virginia Rodden and husband Paul of Belmont, Sherry Rice and husband Tony of Gastonia; 16 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m to 3:00 p.m. Friday at Carothers Funeral Home, Gastonia with the Funeral Service to follow at 3:00 p.m. at The Colonial Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Hord officiating.

Interment will follow at Hillcrest Gardens, Mt. Holly.

Mr. Richmond was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Melvin Richmond.
