VVirginia “Weedy” Nell (Mc Carter) Keever went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday November 9, 2021 at her home in Gastonia. She was under the loving care of Gaston Hospice. Weedy Loved Jesus and she was a devoted Christian who faithfully attended The First Free Will Baptist Church in Gastonia. Weedy worked in the textile industry, however her family and her church family was her life. Many will truly miss Weedy.
Her husband and the love of her life, John Henry Keever, preceded her in death in December 2019. Her daughters, Kathy Ann Keever and Betty Sue Sperling have also gone on before her. She is the daughter of the late Zora Etta (Deal) Mc Carter and Oliver Wallace Mc Carter. Weedy is the last of 13 siblings.
Left to carry on her legacy are her daughters Delores Lineman and Teresa Wylie and her son Rick Keever and his wife Martha.
A graveside service celebrating the life of Weedy will be held at 10:30 AM on Sunday November 14, 2021 in the Mathew Section of The Apostle’s Garden at Gaston Memorial Park, 1200 South New Hope Road, Gastonia. Pastor Darin Gibbs of The First Free Will Baptist Church will offer words of encouragement and hope to family and friends that gather to remember Weedy. Weedy will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, John.
