Shirley Ellis Sutton

Shirley retired from AMP Inc as a Machine Operator and she held many jobs before that. She was a faithful member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Lowell, NC, and the COED III Sunday School Class. She loved children and taught them about the Word of God for many years.

She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Wilfred “Willie” Sutton; son, Steve Sutton and wife Amy of Kings Mountain; grandson, Chris Sutton and wife Miranda of Graham, NC; granddaughter, Jessica Auten and husband Harrison of Gastonia, NC; great granddaughter, Lyndee Jo Sutton of Graham, NC and many wonderful nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by her brother, Robert Ellis and wife Jane; sisters, Helen McGee and husband Charles and Ernestine Lambert and husband Everette.

A visitation for Shirley will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Woodlawn Baptist Church, 1101 N. Main Street, Lowell, NC 28098 with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 am. A committal service will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, NC 28054.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Woodlawn Baptist Church Building Fund.
