Shirley Faye Patterson

Shirley Faye (McKinnish) Patterson, 74, of Dallas passed away peacefully at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia on Thursday May 14, 2020. Shirley loved to do crafts. She would crochet as well as cook, can and garden. She love her plants and she was particularly fond of flowers. More than anything Shirley loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all that knew and loved her.

Shirley is the daughter of the late Helen (Crisp) and David McKinnish. Her sisters Joyce Horne, and Frances James and brother Charles McKinnish have preceded her in death.

Left behind to cherish their memories of Shirley are her husband of 40 years, Gary Patterson, her daughter Angela Dover and husband Randy and son, Randy McKinnish and wife Lisa. Missing their grandmother are grandchildren – Christina Tomlinson and husband Stephon, Megan McKinnish and husband Austin, Randy Dover, Jr. and Tara Armstrong. Her sister Dorothy Huskey and husband Jack and brother Jim McKinnish also survive Shirley. Shirley’s special lifelong friend, Pinkie Witherspoon, is also grieving the loss of Shirley.

The family will hold a graveside service at 11:00 am on Monday May 18, 2020 in the Garden of Time at Gaston Memorial Park, 1200 S. New Hope Road, Gastonia.
