Sandra was a sewing instructor at Clevemont Mills for many years. As an instructor, she gained respect by being supportive and fair to everyone and made many lasting friendships.
Sandra enjoyed spending time outside working in her flower and vegetable gardens with her daughter. She was a talented seamstress, quilter, cook and especially enjoyed baking. She loved to share her recipes and delicious desserts with friends and family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by her husband, Otes Lane Ray and her youngest daughter, Beverly Dixon Heavener.
She is survived by her daughter, Penny Dixon Morris and husband Mark of Gastonia, NC; grandchildren, Mitchell Heavener, Aaron Heavener and Farrington Morris; and great grandson, Mason Heavener.
The family will have a private service at a later date.
Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Humane Society of Gaston County.
