A native of Polk County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late
James M. and Leona Trantham Cotter.
Mrs. Queen was a member of Crossroads Community Church in Charlotte.
She was a pastor’s wife for almost 30 years and a pianist and choir
director many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Bathe of Mansfield, Ohio;
brothers, Clemmer Paul Cotter and Joe Cotter, both of Gastonia; sister,
Iva Sosebee of Gastonia; 3 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st
husband, Willie R. Thompson; 2nd husband, Arnold Queen; daughter,
Martha Davis; brother, Clyde Cotter; sisters, Evelyn Cunningham and
Onabee Welch.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Saturday in the Colonial Chapel
of Carothers Funeral Home in Gastonia with Rev. Dr. Joseph A. Bathe
officiating.
Burial will be at Gaston Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday at
Carothers Funeral Home in Gastonia.

Since Christian music was a large part of Mrs. Queen's life, the family
requests, in lieu of flowers, that contributions be made to Abundant
Grace Fellowship, 1080 W. Longview Ave., Mansfield, OH 44906, for the
music ministry of the church.
