Ronald “Ronnie” Wayne Rhyne, 72, passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 1, 2022. Ronnie was a family man that loved everyone. He had a great sense of humor and a soft heart. He was carefree. He loved everyone and everyone loved him. He treated you the same no matter who you were. He loved anything that had a motor in it. He enjoyed motorcycles, especially Harley Davidson and Hot Rods. Ronnie proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. He retired from Duke Energy, but retirement could not keep him down. He worked part-time at South Point Grill and Market where he loved just talking to the customers. He was a musician and he learned to play the guitar by ear. He loved dogs, he learned to love cats and he enjoyed camping and the beach. Many will dearly miss him as he was one of a kind.
Ronnie is the son of the late Parvell (Loftin) Rhyne and James A. Rhyne. His brothers Jim Rhyne, Jack Rhyne, Don Rhyne and three great grandchildren precede him in death.
Ronnie leaves behind his loving wife Robin (McDonald) Rhyne of the home, and daughters Kelly Rhyne and Tracy (Rhyne) Waters and her husband Gene as well as stepdaughter Cameron McDonald. Missing their grandfather are Kelsi (Waters) Williamson and her husband John, Peyton (Waters) Grant and her husband Cameron and Grayson Waters. His legacy includes three great grandchildren. His sister Connie (Rhyne) Atkins and husband Chris of Belmont and brother Richard Rhyne and his wife Teldia of Gaffney, SC are also grieving the loss of their brother.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Ronnie will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday March 4, 2022 at Unity Baptist Church, 1005 Catawba Street, Belmont. The family will receive friends before the service beginning at 12:30 at the church. The United States Army will render military honors. Pastor Joe Lawing will officiate and Reverend Scott Lee will participate in the service.
