Robert Eugene Thompson

Robert worked in textiles his entire life. He loved going to the mountains, river rafting, gardening and car shows. He was a member of Gospel Light Holiness.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by his wife, Katie Thompson; brothers, George Thompson, Jr. and Danny Thompson; sisters, Faye Bradley and Joann Caldwell.

He is survived by his sons, Eugene Thompson (Pam), Robert Allen and Brandy Ault; brothers, Charlie Thompson and Clifford Thompson; sisters, Dale Baker, Shirley Stevens and Cathy Lucas (Robert); grandchildren, Travis Thompson, Cheyenne Thompson, Brandon Ault, Timothy Thompson and "Little Robert's" children; two great grandchildren.

A visitation for Robert will be held Friday, February 17, 2023 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, North Carolina 28054 with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM. A committal service will at Gaston Memorial Park.
