Ralph Maurice “Reece” Moore, Jr., 80, of Cramerton, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Caromont Regional Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was born in Cramerton and was the son of the late Ralph Maurice Moore, Sr. and Lula Broome Moore.
Mr. Moore attended the Cramerton Schools, he was employed for 27 years at the Mayflower Plant of Burlington Industries, Cramerton and he retired from J. P. Stevens Automotive Group, Cramerton. He coached baseball for the Triangle Optimist Club, Springwood and was a former City Council Member for the Town of Cramerton.
Mr. Moore was a member of Cramer Memorial United Methodist Church where he served in many capacities with the church.
Mr. Moore is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ommie Cloninger Moore; three sons, Alan Moore and wife Lisa of Gastonia, Michael Moore and wife Kay of Belmont, Larry Moore and wife Jackie of Bartlett, Tennessee; one sister, Faye Reid of Cramerton; three grandchildren, Janice Ashe and husband Tracy of Stanley, Jarrett Moore of Charlotte, Travis Moore and wife Mandy of Bartlett, Tennessee; five great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Cramer Memorial United Methodist Church, 154 N. Main Street, Cramerton.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at Cramer Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Cloninger officiating.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dean Edward Moore.
