She was a graduate of Cramerton High School. Peggy worked at Southern Bell as a Telephone Operator and then retired at Pharr Yarns with over 25 years of service. She was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church of Gastonia until she was unable to attend due to illness. Peggy enjoyed crocheting, fishing and was very passionate about her grandchildren.
She is survived her children, Meloney Thaler and husband David, Linda Pearson and husband L.C., Danny Weaver and wife Becky, and Vanessa Weaver; grandchildren, Jenna Thaler and fiance Connor Kremsner, Aleshia Heath, James Heath, Lee Weaver, Chris Weaver, and Stephanie Rentz; step grandchildren, Della Thompson and Jerry Street, Jr.; great grandchildren, Houston Kremsner, Kodie Heath, Landon Hucks, Jayda Heath, Bella Paulley, Colton Weaver, Kloie Kimsey; step great grandchildren, Tyler Huffman and Acea Wright; brother, David Carpenter; and step daughter-in-law, Bea Morgan.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by her husband of 28 years, Johnny Lee Weaver; step children, Jerry Street, Joanne Shepard; grandson, Terry Lee Heath.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, October 23, 2023 at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park with the committal service to immediately follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
