Paul "BoBo" William Childers, age 79, of Gastonia, North Carolina was called home to be with Jesus on Sunday, December 10, 2023. He was born on April 15, 1944 in North Belmont to the late Clinton and Lola Mae Brewer Childers.
Paul loved sitting out on the front porch, in his rocking chair, with a Coke in his hand and always a story to share. . Paul enjoyed spending time with his nephews and nieces taking them to the Flea Market, teaching them how to change a tire and to drive and many other life skills. He loved to eat Southern Cooking, especially his mom's and sister's. He also shared his love of music with all that knew him. He was deeply loved by his family, especially the children. Paul was a very thoughtful and giving person.
He was preceded in passing by three brothers, Jack Childers, Tom Childers, Ted Childers; one sister, Mary Ann Nolen; nephews, Jason Childers, Sam Childers, and Aubrey Childers.
Paul is survived by his sister, Helen O'Daniel and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park. A graveside will follow at 3:30 pm at Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
