Nina Seigler Humphries

Nina Seigler Humphries, 94 passed away October 9, 2013 at her home. She was born September 8, 1919 to the late James and Mattie (Williams) Seigler. Over the years Nina was a member of Linwood Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Chapel Grove Baptist Church and Charlotte Church of Christ.

Nina is survived by her five children, Martha Worrell and husband Gary of Denton, TX, Sarah Peeler and husband Tony of Gastonia, NC, John Humphries, Jr. and his partner, Rick Hopkins of Carolina Shores, NC, Doug Humphries and wife, Debi of Belmont, NC, and David Humphries and wife, Denallia of Gastonia, NC; twelve grandchildren, Dodi Reardon, Becky Foy, Kelli Eddy, Kerri Stowe, Kevin Worrell, Micah Peeler, Brandy Humphries, Dana Gastelum, Shannon Humphries, Drew Humphries, Michael Tuggle and Mikey McNabb; fifteen great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Olivia, Christopher, Siera, Joshua, Alexandria, Carter, Caroline, Conner, Drew, Jack, Kayla, Elijah, Emma and Kyli. She was a loving Aunt to Deloma Morrow, Gene Arrowood, Pat Ruby and Linda Sweeny.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Humphries and daughter, Shirley.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Carothers Funeral Home, 212 W. 2nd Ave, Gastonia. Gene Arrowood will officiate. Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm, Friday at the funeral home.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation for all the staff at Gaston Hospice, especially Jennie Davis and Shanta Love.
