Mary “Jeanette” Howell Ferguson, 67, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2012. She was born October 31, 1944 in Landis, NC to the late James and Violet (White) Howell. Jeanette graduated from East Rowan High School and worked at Wix Corporation for over 40 years. Jeanette was a blessing to anyone that knew her. She loved her family unconditionally. “She was my mother, aunt and my best friend and will be missed dearly”…Lisa.
Jeanette is survived by her siblings, Brenda Dellinger and husband, Roger, Linda Crisp and husband, Howard, Betty Burdette and husband, Grady, Bobby Howell and Roger Howell; special niece Lisa Huffman and her husband Darin; nephews, Kenny Dellinger, Kevin Crisp and Jeff Laxton; great nephews and nieces, Megan Ingle, Brandon Ingle, Brandy Kee, Baby Mason, Zach and Ian Dellinger, Brenna and Bailey Crisp, Keith and Jamie Huffman and Brittany Jones; some very special friends, Maybell, Bertha, Robert, Ruby and John.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ferguson, one sister, Patricia Laxton and nephew Alan Moore.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Carothers Funeral Home in Gastonia.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 25 at Carothers Funeral Home and burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park. Rev. Dickie Spargo will be officiating. Pallbearers serving the family are Kenny Dellinger, Dale Warlick, Todd Allman, Darin Huffman, Keith Huffman and Chris Kee.
The family would like to express deep appreciation for the care given by her brother-in-law Roger Dellinger, great niece Megan Ingle and niece Lisa Huffman and her husband, Darin and to other relatives and friends who supported her during her illness. They would also like to thank all the doctors and volunteers with Gaston Hospice for their special care.
