She was born in Greenville, S.C., daughter of the late Paul Harold and Annie Lou Franks Williams.
Mrs. Horton was married in 1941 to her late husband Robert “Bob” Marvin Horton.
Mrs. Horton retired from Homelite Corporation as a Secretary in the Traffic Department. She was a member of Chapter 184 Eastern Star where she was Past Worthy Matron and District Deputy of Eastern Star and a member of Judean Shrine. She was a Member of Cramer Memorial United Methodist Church where she formerly was President of the United Methodist Women.
Mrs. Horton is survived by her daughter, Anne Campbell of Morganton; two grandchildren, Rob Campbell, Andy Campbell of Morganton; five great grandchildren, Evin Campbell, Cade Campbell, Rosie Campbell, Phoebe Campbell, Jason Campbell of Morganton; special friends, Carolyn Helms of Cramerton, Pat Cunningham of Gastonia.
A celebration of life service will be 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park with the Rev. Laura Auten officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately after the service at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park.
Entombment will be private.
Mrs. Horton was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 62 years, Robert “Bob” Marvin Horton; son-in-law, Jerry Campbell.
