Lynn (Rick) Lefler, 70, of Cramerton, NC went to her heavenly home on Saturday, July 9, 2022. She was under hospice care at Stanley Total Living Center. For 20+ years, she faithfully worked as an accounting clerk in the payroll department at Duke Energy, but Lynn’s life was more than just work. Lynn’s life revolved around her family, her church, and serving others. She grew up at Cramerton Free Will Baptist Church, and while living in Seneca, SC, she faithfully attended and served at Hopewell Baptist Church. She loved all things of the church- studying her Bible, singing, hymns, fellowshipping with others, and even playing church softball. She did not have any kids of her own, but she continued her life of service by taking her vacation time to minister to kids at Harvest Time Bible Camp. She was diagnosed with dementia when she was only 57. Even as many events in her life begin to fade from her memory, her desire to serve her Savior Jesus Christ remained resolute, and the hymns of the church continued to comfort her soul. Lynn will be dearly missed by many.
Lynn is the daughter of the late Guynell (Parris) Rick and Fred Rick. Her brother, Tony Rick, also preceded her in death.
Left behind to cherish their memories of Lynn and to carry on her legacy include her sister Sherry Thomas and her husband Carl and half-sister Leigh Ann Dreamer and half-brother Glenn Paul Rick. Her nieces Heather Brackeen and her husband Stephen and Hannah Haggard and her husband Josh and nephew Carson Thomas are all grieving the loss of their aunt. Her great nieces and nephews, Naomi Brackeen, Noah Brackeen, Nathaniel Brackeen, Cameron Haggard and Palin Haggard are all also grieving Lynn’s passing.
A celebration of Lynn’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at Carothers Funeral Home, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia. The family will receive friends before the service beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will follow the Celebration of Life Service in the Garden of Four Season at Gaston Memorial Park. Pastor Josh Baer and Reverend Stephen Brackeen will officiate and offer words of encouragement and hope as family and friends celebrate the home-going of Ms. Lynn Lefler.
