Lisa (Threlkeld) Tucker, 65, lost her battle to Alzheimer’s on Thursday October 31, 2019, passing peacefully at home with her family by her side. Lisa was a Godly woman. She was a member at Sandy Plains Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school to children and youth. Lisa had a heart of gold. She loved life and had a beautiful smile. She was an excellent cook and she enjoyed coordinating family gatherings. She could not wait for Thanksgiving and Christmas each year. She was the glue that held her family together. She worked at Citi Financial where she touched many lives and where she won numerous awards for leadership. Lisa loved her work, but her family was always first. She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Lisa was born in Gastonia and is the daughter of Kathryn (Wilson) Marlow and the late Bobby Threlkeld.
When Lisa was only 17 she married the love of her life, Edgar Tucker. Lisa and Edgar have been married for 48 years. Edgar is left behind to cherish her memories and to carry on her legacy. Also left behind are their daughter; Courtney Anderson and grandson; Austin Anderson. Lisa leaves behind sisters; Melanie Crooks and husband Joe and Kathy Upton and husband Butch as well as brothers; Chip Threlkeld and fiancée Angie Hall and Jon Threlkeld. Missing there aunt are her niece; Katie Whiteside and nephews; Jacob Whiteside and Matt Crooks and wife Aly.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Lisa’s life at 4:00 PM on Tuesday ~ November 5, 2019 in the chapel of Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia. The family will receive friends before the service beginning at 2:00 PM at Carothers chapel. Pastor Robert Thompson will offer words of encouragement and hope to family and friends who gather to remember Lisa.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made in Lisa’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N.
