Laura Elizabeth Rogers Stuart

Laura Elizabeth Stuart, 91, of Gastonia passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday March 15, 2017. Laura loved the outdoors and she enjoyed working in her garden. Laura was formerly a member at West Franklin Avenue Baptist Church and currently held membership at Northside Community Church. She retired from Homelite after working there for over 20 years. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Laura was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years – Wade E. Stuart. Also preceding her in death are her son-in-law Dan Jones and sister Ethel Fink

.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Barbara Jones of Gastonia. Also missing Laura are her grandson Dan Jones II and Great-grandsons Trey and Tyson Jones.

A Celebration of Life for Laura will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday March 20, 2017 at Carothers Funeral Home Chapel, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services.

Graveside and interment will be held following the services at Gaston Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Laura’s name to Gaston Hospice, P.O. Box 3984, Gastonia, North Carolina 28054.

The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff at Gaston Hospice for the services they provided to Laura and especially to her caregivers Anna and Wanda.
