Service above Self…Giving himself to family and friends…. A Beloved family man… A man of God… A United States Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam Era… These are a few words and traits that are fitting for Larry D. Cloninger… But he was much more to his family and friends…
Larry went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 after complications from a serious illness. He was preceded in death by his parents who raised him the right way, Melvin Cloninger and Helen High Cloninger.
Those left behind to cherish the memories are his wife of 45 years, Brenda Bell Cloninger; his son and daughter-in-law: Shane and Stephanie Cloninger of Rock Hill, South Carolina; his two beautiful granddaughters: Summer and Samantha; one sister and brother-in-law: Susan and Tim Barnett of Gastonia, North Carolina; one brother and sister-in-law: Tommy and Sandra of Lowell, North Carolina.
Celebrating the Life lived by Larry will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, October 23, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Stanley, 409 Old Mount Holly Road, Stanley, North Carolina 28164 with Reverend Ron Caulder and Reverend Jason Ballard who will be delivering the words of comfort to the family and friends. Active pallbearers are Shane Cloninger, Tommy Cloninger, Tim Barnett, Brian Cloninger, Roy Redding and Jeff Redding.
Receiving of friends will be from 12:30 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. prior to the service.
The committal service with Military Honors accorded by the Gaston County Honor Guard will follow at Hillcrest Gardens, 1508 Charles Raper Jonas Highway, Mount Holly, North Carolina 28120.
