Larry Gene Bradley, Sr. passed away peacefully on Saturday morning February 27, 2021. Larry was a devoted family man. He is the son of the late Sarah (Howell) and Vester Cleo Brandley. His family says he was a great dad. He proudly served his country in The United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Larry was wounded and he received two purple hearts. Larry loved to fish. He enjoyed all sports and he especially loved to play bingo. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Larry is survived by his wife of over 20 years, Patricia (McDonald) Bradley, his daughter Crystal Bradley and sons Larry Bradley II and his significant other Melinda Gibson and Jimmy Bradley and his fiancée Angela Poston. Larry had three step children he considered his own – Martha Skipper and her husband Steve, Sue Latimore and her husband Dale and Tony Bates and his wife Jackie. Missing their grandfather are his grandchildren, Tyler King, Brittney Bradley, Casey King, Nathan Bradley, Alex Bradley and Ashelyn Bradley. Larry also leaves behind three great grandchildren, 14 step grandchildren and numerous step great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday March 3, 2021 at Carothers Funeral Home, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia. The family will receive friends before the service beginning at 12:00 noon. Burial, with full military honors accorded by The United States Marine Corps and the Gaston County Honor Guard, will following the chapel service in the Garden of Honor at Gaston Memorial Park. Reverend Roger Overton will offer words of encouragement and hope to those that gather to remember Larry. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
