Joyce C. Brittain

Joyce Brittain, 78, passed away Feb. 10, 2015 at Belaire Health Care Center in Gastonia. She was born October 9, 1936 in Andrews, NC the daughter of the late Henry David Cathey and Inez Calhoun Cathey.

Joyce was a long time member of First Baptist Church, Cramerton. She was a lover of music and the arts and she could pick a mean guitar. Joyce was a huge Elvis Pressley fan and just couldn’t believe it when he died. Her children and husband note her as an amazing cook. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and loved her family dearly.

Survivors left to cherish Joyce’s memory include her loving husband Richard T. Brittain; sons, Keith Brittain and his wife Laura and Wayne Brittain; brother, Henry Cathey Jr. as well as three grandchildren; Allison, Sean and Sarah Brittain.

A visitation will be held at First Baptist Church, Cramerton, 235 8th Avenue, on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 11:00 AM followed by a service at 12:00. Interment will follow in Gaston Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Cramerton.
