He was born in Gaston County and was the son of the late Mack Younger and Ida Sommer Quinn.
Mr. Quinn was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during WWII. He was a retired from A& P Supermarkets, former member of Linden Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, where he was Deacon and is a member of Salem Baptist Church. He was a member of the Absher-Flowers V.F. W Post 9337 and a former member and past Governor of Gastonia Moose Lodge #1303. He was a member of the WWII Last Man Club.
Mr. Quinn was an accomplished artist, “Painter of Landscapes.” He was the neighborhood lawn mower repair man.
Mr. Quinn is survived by two daughters, Anne White, Freida Hamilton and husband Randy of Gastonia; one son, Fred C. Quinn, Jr. of South Carolina; brother, James Michael Quinn and wife Linda of Gastonia; four grandchildren, Brian Grayson, Ashley Quinn, Monica Nolan, Karen Stensgard and husband Brad; several great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Salem Baptist Church, 1534 Rolling Meadows Lane, Gastonia.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Salem Baptist Church with Pastor Junior Morris officiating.
Interment with Military Honors by the U. S. Army will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
Mr. Quinn was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret Robinson Quinn; brother, Mack Quinn, Jr.; sister, Sue Smith.
