Francis Jewell “Wildman” Sutton, age 71, passed away on Friday ~ July, 19, 2019 at his residence in Belmont, North Carolina with his loving family by his side. Francis worked for Firestone Mills Textile for over 36 years. He loved NASCAR and collecting Hot Wheels cars. Francis will always be remembered for his great sense of humor and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Those left behind to cherish Francis's memories and carry on his legacy are his wife of 45 years, Wanda Whitman Sutton; multiple nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Doc.
Francis was the son of the late John Sutton and Ruby Helms Sutton. He was also preceded in death by his two sisters: Brenda Smith and Hazel McCoy along with two brothers: Frank Sutton and Leonard Sutton
A Life Well Celebrated Ceremony will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday ~ July 22, 2019 in the Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, North Carolina with Reverend Joshua Martin delivering words of comfort and hope to Francis's family and friends.
Graveside and committal will follow in the Cherry Garden at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, 1509 Charles Jonas Raper Highway, Mount Holly, North Carolina 28120.
The family will receive guests from 12:00 PM ~ 2:00 PM prior to the service.
