Emma Spurling Rollins, age 78, of Belmont and formerly of Lowell, passed away at her home on Saturday, November 5, 2011 with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Rollins was born in Turtletown, Tennessee and was the daughter of the late James Joel and Annie Bell Daily Spurling.
Mrs. Rollins former employee of the Adrian Plant of American & Efird in Mt. Holly.
Mrs. Rollins is survived by her husband of 61 years, J. C. Rollins; three daughters, Rita Ann Wilson of Brownsummit, North Carolina, Roberta Helms Farmer of the home, Rhonda Carlisle and husband Mike of Lincolnton; one son, Carl Rollins and fiancé, Jackie Sanders of Gastonia; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Carothers Funeral Home, Gastonia.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at The Colonial Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home with Rev. Jason P. Carson officiating.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
Mrs. Rollins was preceded in death by her parents; eight brothers; two sisters.
