Edward William Nenninger passed away on Thursday, October 29th, 2015 at the age of 57 following a long battle with cancer. In life, Ed's passions included gardening, fishing, hunting, baseball, hockey, and spending time at the beach. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend.
Born to Robert Nenninger and the late Diane Nenninger of Lake Wildwood, IL, Ed is survived by his wife of 28 years Gwendolyn Nenninger; his step-son Lanny Teets and daughter-in-law Ellen McGinnis of Denver, CO who are expecting Ed’s first grandchild; his three sisters: Barbara (John Lee) McLean of Midland, NC; Mary Napolitano-Knapp of Varna,IL; Elizabeth (Jack) Delby of Fox Lake, IL; and his brother Anthony Nenninger of Varna, IL.
He was preceded in death by his sister Laura Nenninger.
Visitation is scheduled to be held from 2:00pm - 3:00pm Saturday, November 7th, 2015 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (805 S. York St., Gastonia, NC), followed immediately by a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 3:00pm. Reverend Kathleen “Kitty” Rankin and David Lawrence will deliver words of comfort to his family and friends.
