Ms. Dottie, as she was lovingly referred, was a mighty woman of God. She lived as she served, ministering and encouraging those around her. She was born in Wilmington, NC on February 6, 1944, but her family moved to Hamlet NC in 1954. As a teenager, she began her lifelong passion for teaching although not in the conventional route. She became a horse trainer, and taught riding lessons as well competed in local, regional and state horse shows. As life moved forward, she married moving to the Charlotte area, and gave birth to two beautiful daughters.
She began her walk with the Lord in 1974, her hunger for the Lord led her to teaching women’s and children’s ministries. Late in life, she attended Winthrop University and obtained a major in English studies and minor in education. She used her degree to teach high school English for a very short time, before moving into the ministry of helps. Utilizing her gifts of office assisting, and organization, she transitioned to the Architecture department of the former Carolinas Medical Center Hospital. In 2005, she obtained a Bachelor of Theology from Impact International School of Ministry in Huntsville Alabama. Upon her return from Alabama, she availed herself to numerous interests, primarily writing, teaching, working in various roles for customer service. She started Confidence of Christ Ministries as a YouTube channel to teach and minister the gospel, as well as proofreading services and writing.
Ms. Dottie is preceded in death by her parents, Seth Kenion and Dorothy Daphine Bradshaw Evans and brother Ronald Edward Evans.
She is survived by her sister Sandra Gail Evans, daughters Heather Poston (son in love, Donald Poston) and Emma Kate Haskell. Her treasured grandchildren Ivey Kinion Wright, Benjamin (Seth) Poston, Lotus Rhame Haskell and Wesley Keith Poston. Her nephews and Mark E Jacobs and Matthew K Jacobs (wife-Ashley) and many grand nieces and nephews.
