Born in Galesburg, Illinois, she was a daughter of the late Leonard Dewitt Akright and Margaret Sophie Applegren Akright. Mrs. Pedigo was a loving wife and mother who was always there for us and others, including all the hobos we kids brought home for lunch in the summer from the B&N Switchyard on Cedar Street. She was the savior of countless animals brought to her including dogs, raccoons, owls, pigs, and possums. She never turned anyone or anything down that needed saving.
Mrs. Pedigo is survived by three children, Rhonda Vilardo of NC, Michelle Wright (Billy) of NC, and Michael Pedigo (Lorie) of IL; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Pedigo; a sister, Patricia Joan Fisher of FL; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; nieces and nephews; and many friends. She was predeceased by a son, Marc Pedigo; a son-in-law, Gary Vilardo; and a brother, Walter Leroy Akright.
