Danny was born in Mecklenburg County and worked many years in textiles. He was affectionally known as the train man of Belmont because of his love of trains. In his years he coached baseball and football and organized many large baseball tournaments. He was a loving husband and doting father and a great provider. His love for God and his family will always be remembered.
Danny was the son of the late Bobbie Lee Carlisle and Joseph Eugene Carlisle of Belmont. He was preceded in death by his brother, Mason Carlisle of Belmont and his sister Vickie McCumbee of Stanley. He was cared for by his daughter in law, Nancy Carlisle of Bessemer City and the staff at The Brian Center in Gastonia, NC.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carolyn Diane Carlisle of Belmont; his son, Daryl Carlisle (Nancy) of Bessemer City and his daughter, Tabitha Griffin (Gary) of Dallas, NC. He is the proud grand father of five grandchildren, Michael Carlisle (Jada) of Kings Mountain, Bryan Carlisle (Samantha) of Fayetteville, Jeremy Carlisle (Catherine) of Winston Salem, Abbie Null (Greg) of Bessemer City, Heather Griffin (Keith) of Lincolnton, NC and Christie Griffin (Scottie) of Shelby, NC He is also a great grand father to 14 children, Carmen, Kadi, Mackenzie, Logan, Noah, Kayla, Phoebe, Liam, Braxton, Hunter, Aiden, Tinsley, Ethan and Ksea.
A visitation for Danny will be held Friday, August 26, 2022 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at East Belmont Baptist Church, 501 E. Catawba Street, Belmont, NC 28012 with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm. A committal service will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, NC 28054.
