Catherine Leslie Smith

Catherine Leslie Smith, age 50, of McAdenville was a good wife and mother. She worked at K-mart for over 25 years. She loved her cats, flowers and the mountains. She especially loved helping others. Catherine passed away on Sunday June 26, 2016 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia. Catherine will be greatly missed by her family and many others.

Catherine was the daughter of William Murray Leslie and Jennie Krompiec Leslie of Leland, North Carolina.

Left to cherish Catherine’s memories are her husband of 27 years, Jeff Smith of McAdenville; daughter and son in law: Caroline Leslie Smith and Adam Hamilton Johnston of Clover, South Carolina; son: William Todd Smith of McAdenville; brother: Scott Leslie of Leland, North Carolina; a wonderful Mother in Law: Helen Boone Heilig of McAdenville and her beloved cats Heidi, Spike, Tiger and Princess.

A Celebration of Life for Catherine will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday July 1, 2016 at Carothers Funeral Home Chapel, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia with Father Matthew Buettner of St. Michaels Catholic Church to officiate and offer works of comfort to the family.

Active pallbearers are: Adam Hamilton Johnston, Paul Lessard, James Cauldwell, Keith McCraney, Terry Poole and Tim Robinette.

The family will receive friends on Thursday June 30, 2016 from 6:00PM to 8:00 PM at Carothers Funeral Home.

Interment and committal will be held following the service in the Garden of Time at Gaston Memorial Park.
