Beulah France (Swayney) Walker, 84, of Cramerton passed away peacefully on Monday April 6th, 2020 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia. Beulah had a good sense of humor and was often quite funny. She loved trips to the beach, but she particularly enjoyed trips to the mountains. She loved her dogs and flower gardening. She was meticulous in keeping her yard looking good. She was a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. She loved her family and she especially enjoyed time with her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
Beulah is the daughter of the late Nettie (Williams) and John Wesley Swayney, Sr. Her husband, Marshall Walker and a son, Ricky Alexander preceded her in death. Brothers and sisters, Alvin Swayney, Laura Lambert, Winoa Seay, James Swayney, Edwin Swayney, Zonie Lambert, Zena Griffith, Mary French, Ellen McCall, and Robert Swayney also preceded her in death.
Left to cherish the memories of their mother are daughter, Debra Hall and husband John and son, Donnie Alexander. Missing their grandmother are six grandchildren: Jonathan Hall, Ricky Alexander, Jr., Scotty Alexander and his wife Courtney, Joshua Hall and his wife Stacey, Amanda Pleasant and her husband Michael and Jessica Hughes and her husband Ward. Beulah’s legacy includes 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Missing their sister are John Wesley Swayney and Gene Swayney.
Due to the Corona Virus Pandemic the family plans a private graveside service with Pastor Y. Z. Isaac delivering words of comfort and hope to those that gather to remember Beulah. Jonathan Hall, Joshua Hall, Matthew Hall, Scotty Alexander, Ward Hughes and Robert Evans are active pallbearers. Ricky Alexander, Jr. is an honorary pallbearer.
Family and friends that want to pay their respects to Beulah are welcome to view Beulah as she lies in repose any time from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Wednesday April 8, 2020 in State Room II at Carothers Funeral Home, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia.
