Bessie Reece

CRAMERTON - Bessie McMahan Reece, 85, of Belaire Health Care Center went home to be with her Heavenly Father on September 23, 2010 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. She was born February 7, 1925, in Dillsboro, NC daughter of Julius & Early McMahan.

She was a self-employed owner/beautician for 25 years. She is a member of McAdenville Baptist Church in McAdenville.

She is survived by her daughter, Beckie Pennell of Gastonia, NC; sons, Danny Reece and wife, Diane of Gastonia, NC, and Jim Reece and wife, Pam of Belmont, NC; three grandchildren, Leslee Dockery, Matthew Reece and Preston Reece; three great grandchildren, Lauren Dockery, Landon Dockery, and Lilly Dockery; and sister, Cornelia Carpenter of Asheboro, NC.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Boyce Elvin Reece; sister, Mary McMahan; brothers, Robert McMahan, Homer McMahan and Paul McMahan.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 27, in the Colonial Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home, Gastonia, NC with Rev. Matt Genese officiating. Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
