Beatrice Cockram Cribb went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her Daddy on Father’s Day, June 16, 2024. Describing herself as a Christian patriot, Bebe was diagnosed with ALS in August of 2023. With family and friends praying and with God’s faithfulness, she bravely fought this disease. With gratitude, she died peacefully in her sleep after a good day of sharing a popsicle with her sisters Liz and Cynthia and her cousin Sonya.
Bebe was born on June 2,1954 in Boston, Massachusetts to John and Jo Nell Cockram of Tega Cay, SC. The first of four children, Bebe was THE big sister. Always fun, always caring and compassionate, she cared for the least of these. A daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend, Bebe was always willing to help, listen and offer guidance. She spent her life in the medical field as a CNA and Unit Secretary at Gaston Memorial Hospital and a Critical Care Monitor Technician at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. She was her Daddy’s primary caregiver for five years when he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. As the daughter of a Naval officer, she travelled the world but her heart was always home in the Carolinas.
She is preceded in passing by her Daddy and Momma, John and Jo Nell Cockram of Tega Cay, SC.
She is survived by her daughter, Carla Tarbush, her grandson, Alex Roberson, her brother, John Cockram Jr., her sister, Liz Schuesler, brother-in-law, Scott Schuesler, her sister, Cynthia Sowers, brother-in-law Ed Sowers, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Bebe loved deeply those in her life and she was loved by them.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 11:45 am on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park. A graveside service will immediately follow at 12:00 pm at Gaston Memorial Park.
