Wilma L. Wilson, age 90 of Pinson, AL passed away on Sunday, January 15th, 2017. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. Mrs. Wilson was a member of Locust Fork Baptist Church for the past five years and a former member of Bethel United Methodist Church for sixty years. Devoted to her church and community she taught Sunday school, managed a food bank, and served on many committees. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene L. Wilson; parents, Grover Cleveland Gipson and Maggie Margaret Barrons Gipson; brothers, Sidney Gipson, Carl Gipson, Ray Gipson, and Tony Gipson; sisters, Gertrude Pratt and Bertha Gipson. She is survived by her sons, Donald E. Wilson (Kathy), Dennis A. Wilson (Cindy), and Gary Steve Wilson (Liz); brother, Kenneth Gipson and sister, Alma Lollar; grandchildren, Andrea Warren (Wade), Jeremy Ware, Kirby Wilson, Justin Cole Wilson, Celina Longshore (Christopher), and Gary Wilson; great grandchildren, Elijah Longshore, Noah Longshore, Piper Kae Wilson, Megan Nail, and Katie Smith; great-great grandchild, Rayden Nail.
A visitation will be held Tuesday evening, January 17th at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel from 6 until 8 PM. Chapel services will be Wednesday beginning at 2 PM and followed with burial in Bethel UMC Cemetery in Warrior.
