Virginia Wolfe

Virginia Lee Wolfe, age 82, passed away on May 26, 2023, in Mount Olive, Alabama. She was born on May 7, 1941, in Hamilton, Alabama, to Nermon and Lois May Kelly. Virginia was married to her husband, Orbry Ray Wolfe, for fifty-four years. She was known for her kindness and love for children and was affectionately known as "Aunt Jenny" to several nieces and nephews, whom she helped to raise, and considered one little boy, Larry Johnson, her own.

After graduating from Hackleburg High School in 1960, Virginia attended Southern Business College. She had a diverse career, working as a bookkeeper for a restaurant in Birmingham, as a hairdresser, and as a sales clerk at a furniture store. She enjoyed interior decorating and traveling, and her hobbies brought her much joy. She traveled all over the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Virginia never tired of the Smoky Mountains, but her favorite excursion was an Alaskan cruise. Virginia remained a member of Evans Chapel Freewill Baptist in Hackleburg, Alabama until her death.

Virginia is survived by her husband, Orbry Ray Wolfe, her sister, Christine Reach, many beloved nieces and nephews, and Larry Johnson - "her boy". Virginia was preceded in death by her father, Nermon Kelly, her mother, Lois May Terrell Kelly, her sister, Willa Jean Kelly Cody, her brothers, Nermon Leon Kelly, Ricky Ray Kelly, Joel Ray Kelly, and George Hugh Kelly.

Virginia will be deeply missed by her family and friends who love her so.

A graveside service for Virginia will be held Monday, May 29, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Oakwood Memorial Gardens, 2100 Moncrief Road, Gardendale, AL 35071.
