Virginia S. Cox

Virginia Eloise Cox, age 82 of Gardendale, AL departed this Earth on Saturday, October 18, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was a long time member of Pineywood Baptist Church. Virginia was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Albert “Bill” Cox; a son, James Albert Cox; parents, Horrance Conville Sizemore and Ella Louise Limbaugh Sizemore; brothers, H.C., Bill, Calvin, B.A., and Leo. She is survived by her daughters, Denise Glass (Ken) and Coleen Ousley (Rusty); a son, Bruce Cox (Marcy); 8 grandchildren, Dawn Glass, Leslie Cooper, Phillip Standridge, Joey Ousley, Nicole Wilson, Cristy Mosley, Jessica Carlisle, and Adriane Cox; and 7 great grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Coleman and brother, Perry “Gene” Sizemore.

A visitation will be held on Monday evening, October 20th, at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel from 6 until 8 PM with chapel funeral services on Tuesday beginning at 11AM. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Harold Rhoades will officiate.
