Age 84, passed away on June 1, 2013. He served in the U.S. Marines for four years, then joined the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his service. He is survived by, his wife of nearly 60 years, Lorene Hyde; daughters, Wanda Sue Smith, Kathy Hyde, Terry Cassaday, Julie Jones and Annette (Matt) Swann; grandchildren, Sunday, Donald, Scott, Dava, Michael, Eric, Daniel, P.J., Taragene, Greg, Brett and Scotty; 7 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6 ‘til 8 p.m. A chapel service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5th. Burial will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
