Sander Norman Sorensen Jr.

Sander “Sonny” Norman Sorensen, Jr., age 85 of Fultondale joined his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 18th, 2015. He was a loving husband to his wife and a doting father to his three girls, all of whom he loved greatly. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Faye Franklin Sorensen; his parents, Sander and Nettie Sorensen; sisters, Rita Owen and Marie Pike.

He is survived and will be greatly missed by his daughters, Angela McLeroy (Tim), Tamara Bailey (Barry), and Amelia Robinson (Jeff); his grandchildren, Shannon Suggs (Bobby), Amber Jones (Casey), Joshua McLeroy (Summer), Adam Bailey, Nathaniel Robinson, and Mylon Robinson; great grandchildren, Cheyenne and Lily Suggs, Hunter and Carson Jones, Ray and Bruce McLeroy; a sister, Amelia Robbins (Mitchell); and his brother, Chres Sorensen (Carolyn); and a host of nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 20th, at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel from 5 until 8 PM. Chapel services will be Tuesday, July 21st, beginning at 10 AM and followed by interment in Walker’s Chapel Cemetery with U.S. Army Military Honors. Rev. Randy Hays will officiate services.
