Ronald H. Hand

Ronald H. Hand, Sr. age 78 of Gardendale passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017. He retired from Gardendale High School and owned a convenience store for over 20 years. Ron was an avid Harley Davidson Motorcycle rider and member of F.O.E. Eagles, Aerie 972 American Legion. He was a member of Republic Baptist Church in Birmingham. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of fifty years, Patsy McCarty Hand; a daughter, Donna Michelle Hand; brothers, Thomas Lee Hand and A.W. Hand; sisters, Ethel H. Graves, Sara Johnson, Billie Joan Kinney, Iva Nell Maldovado, and Estelle Hand. He is survived by his son, Ronald H. Hand, Jr. and daughters, Veronica Suzanne Hand and Rhonda Baldanado; granddaughter, Maya Michelle Hand; brothers, Delbert Hand and Donald Hand; sisters, Betty Ballew and Bobbie Jean Moore; several nieces and nephews, and beloved cats. Services will be held on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at 2 PM at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Mausoleum. Rev. Guy Moore will officiate services. In lieu of flowers please make donations to The Greater Birmingham Humane Society, Hospice and Home Health Fund of Alabama, or St. Vincent’s Foundation.
