Peggye Nell Douglas

Predeceased by her husband of 58 years, John L. "Pierre" Douglas; her father Carl L. Horne and mother Grace (Braswell) Horne, brothers Zac R. Horne and Calvin C. Horne.

Peggye was a 1950 graduate of Tarrant High School and worked at the SE Regional Office of State Farm Insurance for nearly fifty years, primarily in Agency Administration, where she made friends in State Farm offices across the Southeast. She loved her workplace friends and was a devoted employee, coming out of retirement twice to return to work at State Farm.

She was a devoted wife and loving, nurturing mother to her son. She will always be remembered as "Nanny" to her grandchildren, who she scared half to death with her fast driving on the way to the movies and birthday outings.

Peggye is survived by a son John Douglas (Robbie - Peggye's caregiver for the last nine years); nine grandchildren, John R. Douglas, Jason (Kim) Douglas, Gracie (John) Johnsey, and Jeremy (Jessica) Douglas, Jessica (Kyle) Dickerson and Melanie Douglas, Dara, Brendan and Raylee Bartlett; and twelve great-grandchildren.

Memorial Friday October 11, 2024 at Mausoleum Chapel within Oakwood Memorial Gardens cemetery. Visitation 1:30PM, Service 2:30PM.
