Mr. Paul Ray Richards, 62, died Jan. 13 in Lubbock, TX. His funeral will be at 2:00 on Jan. 31 at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel. He was an individual with autism, living with his mother, Myrtis Richards, until they went to live with his sister and brother-in-law Ed and Dottie Garrison in Lubbock, Texas in 2000. His father, Teddy and mother preceded him in death in 2002 and 2003.
He was an avid sports fan, especially Alabama, Texas Tech and the Dallas Cowboys. He attended the Silver Star/PACE Program, Bacon Heights Baptist Church, Friends of God Church and Mount Moriah where each group enjoyed his enthusiasm. He is survived by his sister Dorothy her husband Ed, his 2 nephews Kevin Garrison and Eric Garrison and four great-nieces and three great-nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 31st at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel in the Fireside Parlor 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm, followed by a service at 2:00pm. Burial will be at Oakwood Memorial Gardens next to his parents.
