Norman L. Thacker, age 88 of Gardendale, AL passed away on Wednesday, December 6th, 2017. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. Mr. Thacker served his country proudly as a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. He worked at ACIPCO, sometimes up to 7 days a week for over 63 years. When he did have some leisure time he enjoyed working in his garden. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Evelyn Thacker; and a brother, Ralph Thacker. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Aileen Thacker; his daughter, Karen Williams (Ted); a brother, Wayne Thacker; sister, Sue Brackin (LaDon); grandchildren, Russ Williams and Misti Williams; great grandchildren, Easton Williams and Barrett Williams.
Services will be held on Saturday, December 9th at 12 noon at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
