Mary Edith Stanley

Mary was born in Roan Mt, TN on April 21, 1938 and she moved to Alabama at the age of 19. She was a member of Glennwood Baptist Church in Morris, AL. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and she loved providing a good home for her family and taking care of them.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Florence Thomas; her husband, Jimmie Childers, and her brother, Ralph Thomas.

Mary is survived by her son, David James Childers (Carmen); her daughter,Linda Gale Brock; a sister, Jean Thomas; four grandchildren, Matthe Dalton Childers (Olivia), Emily Grace Childers, Amber Christa Pierce (Oneil), and Lindsey Alexandra Baker (Guy); one great-grandchild, Rivers Alexander Childers.

Services for Mary will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL, with a time of visitation to begin at 1:00 PM; funeral service at 2:00 PM; followed by her burial in Oakwood Memorial Gardens, GArdendale, AL.
