Martha Jean Killian

Martha Jean Whitehead Killian was born in B'ham, AL on March 26, 1948. Martha was raised in Acipco and attended Eagan Elementary. A few years later her family relocated to West End where she attended West End High School. Martha met her future husband, George Killian, III, at church and the two were married in 1964. They settled in the small community of Fultondale, AL and Martha started attending beauty school where she became a Cosmetologist and opened her own shop, "HairPort", in Gardendale, AL. After raising her children, Martha went back to work and held managerial positions at Quincy's, Flying J and Golden Corral.

Our Mother's warm smile and generous spirit were a true blessing to all who knew her. The loss of our matriarch is beyond measure and is felt deeply by her family and by all of her life-long friends and neighbors. She will be truly missed.

Martha is preceded in death by her Husband of 54 years, George Killian, III; Parents: Orville & Lola Whitehead; Brother: Kenneth Whitehead.

Surviving family members include her Son: George Killian, IV (Dawn) of Florida; Daughter: Martha Musso (Joseph) of Alabaster. Brother: Doug Whitehead of Sheffield.

Grandchildren: Holly Killian of Ashville; Lindsey Brown (Logan) of Calera; Katelyn Musso of Alabaster; Ashlie Golden (Josh) of Virginia.

Great Grandchildren: Dawson, Marlee, Madilynn & Magnolia.

Nieces & Nephews: Jon Whitehead of Attalla; Joey Whitehead of Sheffield; Jennifer Whitehead of Louisiana; Monica Baker of Tennessee

and a host of Great Nieces and Nephews.

Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, Nov 14 at 2pm at Forest Hills Cemetery located at 431 60th St N, Birmingham, AL 35212 and officiated by Mark Barber of East Gardendale Baptist Church.
