Marjorie Bates “Margie” Born July 22, 1920, age 96, passed away at her home in Birmingham Al on February 25, 2017. Margie is survived by two daughters, Ann Marie Ingram of Florida, and Caroline Bates of Birmingham, her one son, Timothy Bates of Birmingham. She has six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Margie was predeceased by her spouse Garold S. Bates April 1990 and was the last survivor of a family of thirteen children.
Margie was a faithful member of Springdale Baptist Church for seventy years and was an active real estate professional for 40 years in the Birmingham area. She loved to bowl and did so well into her late eighties.
Services will be at Ridouts Gardendale Chapel Thursday, March 2nd at 1 PM with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow in Holly Pond, Al.
