Marie H Sparks

Marie was a resident of the community of Pawnee for over 75 years. She was a faithful member of Pawnee Baptist Church and attended until her health deteriorated. She was a homemaker, wife and Nana.

She was survived by her husband of 64 years, Gerald Sparks, their 3 daughters, Denise Callahan (Daniel), Darlene Oglesby (Ron) and Dawn Scrafano (John); grandchildren, David Bracewell, Tommy Callahan, Emma Oglesby and Shelby Scrafano; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom & Margaret Hawk; siblings, Kenneth Hawk, Ann Woodruff, Richard Hawk and Loretta Hollis.

Marie was a wonderful wife, mother, Nana and friend and loved spending time with her girls and their families and giving them gifts and goodies. She always enjoyed laughing and being with the "Train Gang", playing the Mexican Train Game. She loved cooking & baking and was great at it. She really enjoyed ordering out of her magazines and working in her word search and number search puzzles.

She will be missed so very much.

Services for Marie will be held at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL, Saturday, December 14, 2024 with a time of visitation from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM; funeral service at 12:00 PM, followed by her burial in Pawnee Cemetery, 2370 Hewitt Drive, Birmingham, AL.
