Layla Nicole Hughes, age 8 of Fultondale, AL passed away on October 16, 2017. Layla’s true passion was playing softball, which was one of her favorite pastimes. She had a loving heart and never met a stranger. She is survived by her mother, Kayla McCuistion; father, Warren (Pennie) Hughes; brothers and sister, Cayden, Jessa and William; grandparents, Barbara Hughes, Joe Singleton, Lisa Pearson and Robert McCuistion; and many extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 3:30pm in the Chapel at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel with burial to follow at Oakwood Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5:30pm until 7:30pm at the funeral home. Rev. Peter von Herrmann officiating. Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel entrusted with arrangements 205-631-6252.
