Kenneth was a beloved father, brother, Grandpa, and Uncle. He was an avid Alabama football fan and will be missed around the stadium every Saturday. He was born in Mulga, Alabama; graduated from Minor High School, and was an alumni of the University of Alabama. He worked at US Gypsum, Liberty National, and retired from American General Life Insurance. Kenneth was also a cofounder of the Cornerstone Church previously located on Ruffner Road. Kenneth was an active member of Gardendale’s First Baptist Church and had a lot of love for his family and was a friend to everyone he met.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his father and mother, Lawrence H. Moore and Edith Mae Killian Cockerham, and his brother Steven Moore. He is also preceded in death by his grandfather and grandmother, Lawrence and Ethel Moore, and his uncles, Henry Lydell Moore and Ralph Moore. Lawrence, Ethel, and Henry spent their lives raising Kenneth from a young age.
Kenneth is survived by his wife Ada Mable Moore, his sons Jerry Bridges (Barbara) and Kenneth Moore (Cathy), and his daughter Heather Poe (Tim). He is survived by his eight grandchildren, Lyndsey, Jacob, Kolton, Jessica, Caitlin, Cayla, Brooke, and Conner. He is also survived by his sisters, Alice Keough, Marsha Maynard, and Ginger Doyle, and his brother, Jimmy James. He is survived by his eight great grandchildren and five nieces and nephews.
The service will be held at Ridout’s Funeral Home in Gardendale, Alabama on Monday, September 4, 2023 at 2 pm with a visitation beginning at 1 pm. The service will be led by Senior Pastor George Weeks.
Kenneth will be laid to rest in Oakwood Memorial Gardens, 2100 Moncrief Road, Gardendale, AL.
