Juanita, a resident of Morris, AL, passed away peacefully at the age of 86. She retired from Baptist Medical Center, Montclair after 30 years of service and took such pride in her yardwork as well as taking care of the Morris Town Park, Senior Citizens Center and the Memorial Park. She was active in the Morris Beautification Board since 1996 and elected President in 2002. She had a special soft spot for stray animals, especially cats and always had food in her car ready to feed them.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Albert Alvin Schmidt; 2 brothers, Charles and Billy Palmer and a special niece, Victoria Rouse. She is survived by her children, Richard Alvin Schmidt (Georgianna), Kenneth David Schmidt, Rita Fay Schmidt (Johnny), Nita Kay McClendon (Randy); sister, Dorothy Jean Rouse; 2 grandsons, Brandon Levi Willingham and Aaron Dittman Schmidt; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Services will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Sunday, August 23rd, with a visitation to begin at 1:00pm; funeral service at 2:00pm followed by her burial in Oakwood Memorial Gardens, Gardendale, AL.
